World History Reviews:

Define Prehistory= A period of time before writing was invented.
Prehistory ended about five thousand years ago.
Define civilization= People start to live together in cities and share their cultures and way of life.
Paleolithic people lived, worked and hunted together. The males hunted for meat while the women gathered berries and cared for the sick. Last, they used natural elements to make fire.
They usually  lived to be 20 to 25 years old. They would usually die by predators and natural elements.
Five of the tools that were used were fire, shelter, clothes from leather, knives, and their common language.
A difference between the Neanderthals and Cromagnus was that one depended on traps and insticts, while the other used tools and weapons.

Neothilic Period:

The Neothilic period started about 8000 B.C.E.
Two important discoveries for them were how to settle in one place and build larger settlements because of increased food supplies.
One of the earliest known villages was Jericho which was found in a bank between Isreal and Jordan.
Specialization= A result of increased food or the development of occupation.
The Neolithic people learned how to make better tools from metal and how to dye their clothes different colors.
